Grants and Scholarships

AIU Study Abroad Program

International travel can add a new dimension to lifelong learning. The AIU Study Abroad Program makes it possible for you to obtain a grant and earn academic credit in Interior Design while experiencing the cultural, social and historical riches of London.  AIU Study Abroad Programs feature various start dates throughout the year to accommodate your current academic schedule, offering a full term of study, as well as short 5-week summer sessions.  Classes available range from introductory interior design courses to upper-level professional requirements and electives, general education requirements, and historical research-based classes such as Historic Interiors of London, The English Country House and it’s Landscape, and Historic Architecture of London.

Global Edge Grants Available

AIU Study Abroad Programs, in coordination with ASID, has established the Global Edge Grant in the amount of up to $750 for students currently enrolled in a college or university who are student members of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and interested in pursuing an overseas learning opportunity.  ASID allied and professional members do not qualify for the grant.

London Internship Program

In today's competitive professional environments, in-field work experience is becoming increasingly popular for students focused on building a dynamic résumé. That's why so many people interested in international study are taking advantage of the London internships offered through AIU Study Abroad Programs.  The London Internship Program presents students with the opportunity to gain valuable international work experience within an academically supervised format. The program is designed to help you develop both personal and professional skills as you pursue your goals.

AIU London has extensive contacts throughout the London design community and is dedicated to helping you find an internship that meets your interests in areas such as residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, and kitchen design. The internship program allows you to earn college credit, as well as accumulate hours working under the supervision of professional designers.  The class that accompanies the work experience will help you learn to maximize the experiential learning process during your time working in London and also when you enter the job market in the future.  Best of all, you'll be pursuing your career goals while immersed in the vast cultural and social opportunities offered by one of the world's great cities!

Please contact the AIU Study Abroad Programs today for eligibility requirements and application information.  Call the school at 1-800-255-6839 or complete the online form.

Beginning with AIU’s 2007 Spring term in April, the Global Edge Grant can be applied to tuition for one term of study at the AIU London campus.  Students must take a minimum of two (2) classes or 10 quarter hours/6 semester hours of academic credit during their term of study.
